Why Liberation?

The Liberation Units were set up to represent the needs and issues of students from under-represented social groups. So the Race unit is there to represent the needs of students from various ethnic and racial backgrounds within the Students' Union. Also, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgendered unit is there to represent the needs of LGBT students at the university and in their Students Union. The Environment unit is there to represent, not so much the students but the environment. So all the Liberation units represent the students of their name sake.

Who Runs the Liberation Units?

The units are run by elected officers, one of which is a full-time sabbatical and the rest are part-time. Currently, the full-time officer is the VP Race and Diversity Officer.
