UELSU is the recognised representative body for students enrolled at the University of east London. The Union exists to promote the welfare of its members and provide a channel of communication for matters of interest to the student body, both internally and externally. The Union seeks to involve the largest number of students in all of its activities, to enable students to take an active part in the University community, and make the most of the student experience. The Union is working towards equal opportunities in all areas of its work, and as such seeks to provide services, which reflect the diversity of the student body. The Union seeks to empower students by involving them in the decision-making processes that affect the quality of their experiences as students. The Union seeks to provide quality services at affordable price levels, and a range of activities that encourage all students to participate in a living campus, should they choose to do so.
